My name is COLOMBINA

This means "little dove" in Italian. I am a comic servant character from the Commedia dell'Arte.

I was usually dressed in a shabby and patched dress, appropriate for a hired servant. Occasionally, under the name Arlecchina I would wear motley similar to my counterpart Arlecchino. I was also known to wear heavy makeup around my eyes and carry a tambourine which I could use to fend off the ardent advances of Pantalone. I was often the only functional
intelligence on the stage. I aided my teacher, the inamorata to gain the affections of my one true love by manipulating Arlecchino and counter-plotting against Pantalone while simultaneously managing the whereabouts of the inamorato.
