Belarus is gripped by mass protests, triggered by the presidential election on August 9th, 2020 that have been rigged in favor of the dictator Alexander Lukashenko. The scale of the protests is unprecedented for Belarus. Every weekend thousands of Belarusians pack the streets of the Belarusian capital Minsk and other Belarusian cities demanding for Lukashenko's resignation, fair elections without Lukashenko, and freedom for political prisoners who have been detained for expression of their political views.
This elegant full face mask displays one of the Belarusian Revolution symbols - Nina Bahinskaya, 73 years old lady armed with the currently banned historical Belarusian white-red-white (БЧБ) flag on a long pole. She has been demonstrating her position since long before Belarus's recent presidential election crisis. When regime officials are trying to arrest her for holding the prohibited Belarusian national flag, she always says "I'm going for a walk" (Я гуляю).
The mask is made of paper mache and hand-painted by a Venetian artist. Imported from Italy.
Magic of Venezia team supports the incredible people of Belarus and their aspiration for freedom. $35 from each mask sale will be donated to one of the Belarusian fundraisers.
